Loved this book! Can hardly wait for the third one. Mariam Kobras is a refreshing, incredibly creative, and beautiful writer. I am impressed with how she smoothly and naturally transitions from character to character sharing their different views of the story. Thus keeping me from wondering how a certain character felt about one siituation or another. While I was a bit frustrated with Naomi at times in this second book, wanting her to wake up and get it together, I hesitate to even write that because she does have a good excuse, just being shot and all! I hope she and Jon can smooth out the bumps and get back to working together as the strong team that they are. I have read several freebie ebooks lately and while they were enjoyable, I found them lacking in one way or another. Under the Same Sun is NOT lacking. Mariam's descriptive scenes made me feel as if I were right there with the characters. You will be left frustrated, in a good way, because you will be dying to know how it will work out for all the characters you have fallen in love with! Such a great read!Product details

This was the second in the Stone Trilogy about a rock star and his true love. I loved the first book and this one also. The stunning descriptions of the places they travelled made me want to visit Positano italy, for sure.
Kobras does not disappoint in this sparkling, fresh sequel to The Distant Shore. Walk with Naomi on a still beach. Drink in the atmosphere of love and peace. Give yourself the gift of a classic romance.

I loved the first book but this one bored me more than once. Way to much drama for a love affair. To much anger and bitterness to be a good story. I did love the details of the cities as felt I could see each place but not enough real life living.
Another wonderful part to this series, but not quite 5 stars worthy. The story of Jon and Naomi continues with a tragedy in California and the long recovery period, before the two come again to believe in each other.
I loved this book as much as the first in the trilogy, and am now ready to devour the third one. The book did exactly as i hoped it would, it picked up right where the first left off, spin a continuing tale of the lives of a wonderful mixed up family, and did not spend half the book recalling what happened in the first book! That was totally refreshing, and now,,,,,on to the third one! Thanks again Mariam, you are a master!
I loved the first novel in this series, but I felt like the author really hit her stride about halfway through this second book. The love story remains at the forefront of the tale, but what really showcases the author's insight is the strained relationship between father and daughter and between mother and son. So often, issues we have with our parents are perpetuated in the opposite direction to our own children, and it can be terribly difficult to see that and come to understand it in ourselves. Ms. Kobras expresses this beautifully, with the characters struggling to their own conclusions in a way that is honest and lovely to see. Well done!
Read these two books this summer and hold your breath until book three becomes available! Interesting, multi-layered characters that make you laugh at times and shake your head at others. Jon I can understand, get a grip on, but Naomi's spirit is elusive to me - not a fault of the author, rather an interesting twist, but really, if you had a husband like Jon; a man who is characterized as talented, good looking, kind, giving, and trying so darned hard to understand you and your feelings, would you constantly flee?! Again? Beautiful settings, wonderful descriptions make you a part of the scene. I traveled around the world within this story and often felt like a bird sitting on the window sill watching the story unfold! Enjoy!
